Brief:

To dress the room with technology and to achieve real-time interaction amongst the audience, presenters and overseas team members using creative and innovative solutions.

Outcome:

Held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, this event included a custom built 40m wide branded set, multi-image projection from wall to wall, and a combination of 207 Barco C11 and Vuepix P18 super-intense LED panels running either length of the room. As if that wasn’t enough, we also added a concert PA system and 80 moving and static lighting fixtures!

With only four weeks pre-production time, Production Manager Keith Findlay led the team, with Josh creating video content and facilitating new innovations (of which there were many – check out the list below!), Jonathan our Production Planner laying out the set build down to the exact millimetre, and a crew of 40+ onsite to execute the set up, operate and pack down of this three day event.

In addition to the extensive hardware used, innovative elements included:

  • Live password protected, double encrypted video streaming over the web
  • Dedicated video link over IP for international team members to ask questions directly to the presenters in real time
  • Interactive capabilities from mobile phones allowing attendees to submit questions, respond to polls and give opinions at any time
  • On demand, randomly generated numbers for prize giving purposes
  • Polling results projected live to screen

This technology rich conference was well and truly the most innovative event that AV1 has produced to date.
