Event: Freightliner Argosy Launch
Date: 27 July 2011
Venue: Big Top, Luna Park
Pax: 270
Brief:
Having already hosted a soft reveal of the truck in Brisbane, the client wanted this launch to be a BIG occasion. With bold, heavy duty, powerful visuals exuding strength, the client wanted to see the new Argosy breaking through a stainless steel background with pieces of stainless steel rubble at its front.
The idea being that the new Argosy has been ‘unleashed’.
Outcome:
Held in the Big Top at Luna Park, the venue matched the brief perfectly – concrete floors, industrial feel and plenty of space! To add to this, we designed a custom designed set with iron and steel, rivets and bolts – all heavy duty, just like the truck, to create an atmosphere of overwhelming power and strength.
270 guests were wined, dined and entertained by MC, Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross and the team from Aerialise. With loads of moving lights, Aussie rock music, and two imposing trucks in the room, guests enjoyed an evening of dinner and activity. What they didn’t know, was that waiting in the wings, was a third truck…
As the formalities drew to a close, AV1 hit the go button and the set came alive with vision of a truckie putting the Argosy through its paces on the road to Sydney…Milsons Point…Luna Park…and right through the wall of the Big Top!
Rather than stainless steel, we had a custom built 5m x 5m polyurethane brick wall, made up of 250 individual foam blocks, erected as a false wall for the new Argosy to come crashing through.
