In this year’s Melbourne Cup, AV1 hosted a charity sweepstake for their clients.

Everyone at AV1 suggested a charity that had meaning to them, and three were randomly picked from a hat. These were; The Garvan Institute, MicroLoan Foundation and Miracle Babies.

The Garvan Institute is a world leader in biomedical research, pioneering study into some of the most widespread diseases affecting our community today. The goal is prevention and cure for these diseases.

The MicroLoan Foundation gives small loans and training to some of the poorest women in sub-Saharan Africa to help them set up their own businesses and to help their families work their way out of poverty.

Miracle Babies supports premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them. This can be a traumatic time for families, and Miracle Babies is dedicated to positively supporting this experience.

All participants who placed 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd or last place earned a dollar value ($75, $50, $25 or $25) to either dedicate to one charity, or split between the three.

With 5 separate sweeps, we were really pleased to put our money towards these incredibly worthy causes.
